The Half and the 5K finish at the same spot, in front of the Stanley Park Fish House – the 5K also starts from this location. Other options include car pool or take a taxi to the start line. Plan to be at Thunderbird Arena for 6:30 a.m., to give yourself time to get ready for the run.

Regular bus service (#14) from westbound Broadway at Granville to UBC starts at 05:30 on Sunday mornings, running every 15-20 minutes. The #9 bus starts from WB Broadway at Main 5:25am and from Boundary at 05:55am The #9 can be used to connect with the 14 at Granville to get up to UBC for race start. You can also check Translink to see if a bus is available to UBC in time from your neighbourhood, and use the Trip Planner app to help plan your route

NOTE: The Scotiabank Vancouver Half Marathon and 5K has added four additional buses to the Translink schedule for race morning. Three extra #99 B-Lines will be added for June 23, leaving Commercial at 6:15am & 6:35am, and an additional bus leaving Broadway and Cambie at 6:25am (NEW FOR 2019) . There will also be an additional #25 route leaving King Edward / Cambie at 6:20am towards UBC.

Runner Drop-Off Zones

To assist with traffic flow on race morning we will have designated “Drop Off Zones” in place at UBC. If you are not parking, follow the signage and marshals to the drop areas. Do not drive right up to the garage or the start line. This will allow vehicles that are parking to get to the Parkades much quicker. For details, please download the parking map which shows the parking options in the area and the “Drop Off Areas”. Parking rates for the UBC Parkades are included on the map.
