Start Line

8K start time:10:00 a.m. 

Start line location:  On Colborne Lodge Drive, beside the tennis courts and swimming pool. 

8K participants will be organized in different coloured start corrals, based on individual expected finishing time. On race morning, find your start corral by looking for the coloured flag that corresponds to the coloured stripe on your bib. 

Finish Line

8K finish line is on Colborne Lodge Drive, just south of the Bloor Street gate. 

Course Map

The 8K starts south on Colborne Lodge Drive, curves around the Grenadier Café, and heads north on West Road, down the Spring Road hill, across Centre Road, north on Colborne Lodge Drive, turning west onto West Road. It then moves onto the path towards Grenadier Pond, taking a scenic route along the south end of the Park to catch up with Spring Road as you head north toward the finish. Ideal for casual walkers and joggers, as well as serious competitors.

Course Restrictions

Entry Limit 

8K: maximum 2,225 participants 

The Beneva Spring Run-Off is a beautiful run through High Park; however, the narrow roads and pathways make the course suitable for runners and walkers only. For the safety of all participants, baby backpacks, skateboards, roller blades, Kangoo Jump shoes, animals and unauthorized bicycles & wheeled devices are not permitted in the race. 

Participants that use Nordic Poles are welcome.  

Strollers will be permitted in the In-Person 5K and In-Person 8K. This is a recreational category and you will be asked to start at the back of your assigned corral. Please note, the individual in the stroller will not receive a finisher’s medal unless they are a registered participant and wearing a race bib. You must select that you are participating with a stroller during registration as these spots are limited.  

Time Limit 

The time limit to complete the 8K course is 1 hour and 15 minutes. 

*What happens if I don’t complete the race within the course time limit?  

Water Stations 

Water Stations will be provided in the following locations: 

Race Central: South of the Bloor Street gate on the west side of West Road near the Black Oak Café.

On Course:  Near the 4K & 6K marks of the 8K route 

Post-Race: At the Finish Line and the Race Central near the Black Oak Café.

Port-o-Lets 

Port-o-Lets will be provided in the following locations: 

Race Central:  South of the Bloor Street gate on the west side of West Road 

8K Start: South of the Bloor Street gate on the east side of Colborne Lodge Drive 

5K Start: North of the 5K start line on the west side of West Road 

To avoid lengthy lineups and stress, please give yourself ample time to use the facilities. 

Medical Services 

Odyssey Medical will provide medical services on course and at the finish line medical tent. 

A Toronto Paramedic Services ambulance will be stationed at the finish line.
