Bag Check

Bag Check will be will be located inside The Cambie Bar & Grill and open from 7:15 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. You are strongly urged to check your bag early and leave yourself time to move to the starting line. 

The run will start and finish on Cordova Street, near the Woodward’s Development.

Please only bring your essentials with you on race day – the size limitations of items accepted at baggage check are as follows: width = 40cm and length = 50cm. Suitcases, large duffel bags, and large backpacks will not be accepted.  

Canada Running Series holds no responsibility for items checked in baggage check. Please only bring the essentials and leave your valuables at home. 

Post-Race Area

Finish Area Entertainment 

There will be a race announcer, music, and entertainment at the finish line and in the post-race area, providing entertainment to participants and spectators.  

Finish Area Refreshments 

Water, Nuun (electrolytes), and a runner’s snack will be available to participants in the Post-Race Area. For those interested in a post-race meal or beverage, several restaurants are located just steps from the Finish Line.

Getting to the Start & Parking 

The run will start and finish on Cordova Street, near the Woodward’s Development.

Bike 

The best and easiest way to get to the Start Area is to bike. We offer complimentary and secure Bike Valet right beside the Start/Finish Line, on Abbot Street. Free bike valet is open 7:30 a.m. – 11 a.m.  

Transit 

The start line is a short walk from either Waterfront station or Stadium-Chinatown Skytrain stations.  

The following bus routes arrive near the start line: R5 Express bus (Hastings St.), Route 19 (Metrotown to Stanley Park) and Route 22 (Knight to Downtown).  

To plan your trip, use the Translink Trip Planner to find the best options to the start line on race morning. Be sure to arrive at least 30 minutes before the 8:30am race start.  

By Car 

The best option is to have someone drop you off near the race start – pay attention to road closures (link to event notice when ready).   Alternatively, there is street parking and paid parking lots nearby, including:   

Easy Park Lot 2 on the corner of Cambie St. And Pender St and Advanced Parking Lot #220 on the corner of Cambie St. And Dunsmuir St. 

 Cordova Street access to Cordova Parkade (Easy Park Lot 31) is closed. Vehicles should enter and exit from Water St. Google map directions HERE

Road Closures

Please anticipate delays and temporary closures on Race Day from 5 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. Recommended east/west routes into Downtown are Hastings St, Prior, and Terminal Ave instead of Powell Street and Cordova Street.

Event Alert System

The Under Armour Eastside 10K uses a colour-coded Event Alert System (EAS) to communicate the status of course conditions to event staff, volunteers, and participants leading up to and on race day. 

The levels range from Low (GREEN) to Moderate (YELLOW) to High (RED) to Extreme (BLACK) based on a variety of factors, including weather and event conditions. All event staff, volunteers, and participants should familiarize themselves with the Event Alert System colour indicators prior to the race, remain alert for directions from race officials, announcers and staff, and take precautions to prepare for varying weather and event conditions on race day. 

Event staff, volunteers, and participants should stay tuned to the current Event Alert System status via email, announcements and the colour-coded flags at the Help Desk in the Pre-Race/Post-Race Area and at the Water Stations on course on race day.
