The 13th annual Under Armour (UA) Eastside 10K attracted a record field of 3,700 runners, making it the largest event in the race’s history. Participants raced through Gastown, the Downtown Eastside, Strathcona and East Vancouver neighbourhoods. At the same time, they helped raise more than $55,000 for local Downtown Eastside charities, well on the way for a new fundraising record for the event.
Held under sunny skies and ideal racing conditions, the 2026 UA Eastside 10K brought together runners of all ages and abilities, from Olympians and past champions to first-time racers, for a celebration of fitness, community and the unique character of Vancouver’s Eastside neighbourhoods. Racers from 11 of Canada’s 13 Territories and Provinces participated in the race and spectators and volunteers helped create an energetic atmosphere along the route, encouraging racers every step of the way.
At the front of the pack, highly competitive men’s and women’s races unfolded as elite athletes battled for top honours. On the men’s side, Andrew Davies, the 2024 UA Eastside 10K champion and Canadian cross-country champion, claimed victory in 29:32 after a tightly contested race. On the women’s side, Dayna Pidhoresky, the 2019 Canadian Marathon Champion and Tokyo 2020 Olympian, earned the top spot on the podium in 33:15. Although no course records fell, the event featured thrilling competition across the field and saw many runners achieve new personal bests.
While the race delivered memorable performances on the course, community impact remains at the heart of the UA Eastside 10K. Throughout its 13-year history, the event has raised more than $400,00 for Downtown Eastside charity partners, including the Downtown Eastside Women’s Centre, PHS Community Services Society, Urban Native Youth Association, KidSport BC, La Boussole Centre Communautaire Francophone and Promise Vancouver.
Beyond fundraising, Canada Running Series donated all leftover race-day food to the Downtown Eastside Women’s Centre and collected hundreds of clothing and shoe donations from participants.
“Every year, the UA Eastside 10K demonstrates what’s possible when sport and community come together,” said Kri Shier, Race Director, Canada Running Series West. “We saw outstanding performances from elite athletes, inspiring achievements from first-time runners and incredible support from spectators throughout the course. From the record number of participants to the funds raised for local charities, today’s event will have a meaningful impact beyond race day.”

With record participation in 2026, the UA Eastside 10K continues to grow as one of Vancouver’s signature road races. The event is scheduled to return for its 14th edition on September 26, 2027. Registration information will be available at www.eastside10k.com.
