As National Volunteer Week wraps up, we want to se

As National Volunteer Week wraps up, we want to send all of the thank you’s to the incredible volunteers that come out and donate their time to support us at our races! 💙🧡

Did you know that we need over 5,500 volunteers a year to help host Canada Running Series events?! Most of these volunteer positions require early wake up times, lots of standing, and long hours to assist with things like Bag Check, Course Marshalling, Start Line, and everything in between.

We absolutely could not do this without our volunteer team, so be sure to give them a ‘thank you’ or give them a smile the next time you race with us. It goes a long way! 💙

Every day is Earth Day at CRS because we’re comm

Every day is Earth Day at CRS because we’re committed to the environment and sustainable practices year round! 💚🌎

What do sustainable races look like?
- using compostable cups at all water stations, and eliminating the use of plastic water bottles at all CRS events.
- working with incredible organizations like @greeneventninjas to sort through race waste and divert it from landfills.
- medals made from recycled materials (and sometimes recycled chopsticks)!
- implementing innovative sustainable ideas like turning heat sheets into functional park benches.
- spending hours picking up garbage by hand after the race ends (please don’t litter and drop your gel packets on course - we have to pick these up by hand individually, and they stick to the ground 🥲).
- creating waste/garbage drop zones at water stations to keep our city’s streets clean and educate others on race waste etiquette!
- working with the best sustainability partners: @cdntreesforlife & @transcanadatrail !

This year, we’re celebrating our commitment to the environment by planting trees with our friends @cdntreesforlife. This year saw such high demand that we’ve filled all of our spots, but people can still donate to Trees for Life or get tickets to their 50/50 draw by visiting https://www.treesforlife.ca 💚
