Start Line

Start time: 7:30 a.m.  

All participants should be in their corral by 7:25am.  Access to the start chute from Ontario Dr (the north side of Lake Shore) will be closed at 7:25am for the start of the race. 

Time limit: 1 hour 40 minutes  

Start line location: On Lake Shore Boulevard West, west of Ontario Drive.  

Participants will be organized in different start corrals, based on individual expected finishing time. On race morning, find your start corral by looking for the coloured flag that corresponds to the coloured stripe on your bib.  

FINISH LINE

The finish line is on Lake Shore Boulevard West, west of Newfoundland Road. Once you cross the finish line, please keep moving through the chute to make room for those finishing after you.  

RACE CENTRAL

COURSE DESCRIPTION

*Course is subject to change

  • Starts on Lake Shore Boulevard West, west of Ontario Drive
  • West on Lake Shore Boulevard West to turnaround at Ellis Avenue
  • East on Lake Shore Boulevard West to turnaround at Fort York Blvd.
  • West on Lake Shore Boulevard West to finish line at Newfoundland Rd.
  • Participants will then follow Lakeshore Drive and enter Race Central through Ontario Drive in to Parking Lot 852. 

The race route is on paved roadway that is closed to traffic, with a wide turnaround point and minimal elevation gain or loss.

COURSE RESTRICTIONS

For the safety of all participants, baby carriers, skateboards, roller blades, Kangoo Jump shoes, animals and unauthorized bicycles and wheeled devices are not permitted in the race.  

Nordic Pole participants are welcome.   

Strollers are welcome and will be asked to start at the back of the corrals for the safety of all participants. Register early as stroller spots are limited.  

If you wish to participate with a Support Person or Guide, you will register using the online registration system. Your guide has 2 options:   

  1. The guide can participate in the event at no cost. You will select the ‘Guide’ option on your registration form when it asks ‘Will you be participating with any of the following adaptive aids’. You will then enter the name of your guide and their email address. They will need to complete the event waiver and wear two “GUIDE” bibs, one on their front, and one on their back. When the participant picks up their race kit, they will receive the additional “GUIDE” bib(s).  
  1. The guide can register individually and pay the full registration fee. They will receive the event shirt, bib with timing chip & finisher’s medal. They will need to wear the event “GUIDE” bib they receive with their race kit on their back.

Kids Race

 The Kids Race is an 800m event for kids ages 2 to 10.  

  • Kids ages 2-5 years old should participate with a parent.  
  • Kids ages 6-10 years old are in a kids only division.  
  • This is NOT a timed event.  
  • All Kids Race participants will receive a Finisher’s medal in the finish area, water and snacks upon completion of the event in Race Central.

Kids Race finish line is the same as the Kids Race start line.  

Please note — all children must be picked up by an adult at the finish area, following the guidelines below:  

All children will receive 2 identical bibs.  

One bib must be worn by the child participating.  

The second bib must be worn by the adult accompanying or picking up the child at the finish area.  

These procedures are in place for the safety of your children. Please respect our event staff as they take the time to check this at the finish area.

Adults  

Adults are welcome to accompany their children aged 2-5 years old during the Kids Race at no additional cost. Strollers are permitted to start at the back.  

Race Kit Pickup

The Under Armour Brand House in the Toronto Eaton Centre.   

All participants in the In-Person event must pick up their Race Kit at Race Kit Pickup.  

Bring your own bag!   

In an effort to reduce the waste produced by our event, we no longer provide plastic bags to carry your kit or to use for baggage check. Please bring your own bag to Race Kit Pickup for your bib, pins and shirt!   

Race Kit Pick Schedule

There is no race day pickup.  

Picking up for a Friend?  

Please bring either their original Race Roster Registration Confirmation Email OR a text, e-mail, or hand-written note that states they allow you to pick up their race kit on their behalf.

Elites and Awards

Canadian Masters Athletics National 10K Championship 

We are happy to announce that this year’s event will serve as the Canadian Masters (CMA) 10K Championships. 

The top three male and female finishers who are CMA members in each 5-year Masters age group, starting at ages 30-34, will be awarded CMA Gold, Silver and Bronze Championship medals. 

To be eligible for CMA medal, you must be a current member of CMA and you must enter your CMA/Athletics Canada membership number at registration. *Please note that your provincial athletics membership (Athletics Ontario in ON) includes membership to CMA only if you are a Competitive Masters member (Road and Trail memberships do not include CMA membership). 

Pick up your medals at the CMA table near the stage after the race!

  • “Canadian” is defined as: Citizens; Landed immigrants; and Refugees with official status who have been domiciled in Canada for at least one year (proof may be required).  
  • Master defined as: athlete being 40 years old plus, day of event  
  • Prize money winners in the Canadian Elite and Masters categories can double dip and collect prizing in both categories, but collecting prize money in any one category removes you from winning an age category prize.  
  • Athletes accepted into the Canadian Elite Field are ineligible for Open prize money and/or Age Category Prizing. 
  • Open winners are ineligible for Age Category Prizing. 
  • Virtual Race: There will be no assigned prizing for any Virtual Races. 
  • 10K Age Categories: 14 & under, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, 80+. 
  • Age Category prizing is based on chip time  

Results will be reviewed for one week following the event. During these seven days, athletes are able to lodge a formal, written protest to the race director for review. After the week, results will be finalized, prize money and age category prizing will be issued. Prize money is not distributed on event day.  

Claim Your Award 

Participants have 30 days to claim any prizes. Please send an email to awards@canadarunningseries.com with your mailing address, age category and the place you came in. Your prize will be emailed out to you.  

Adaptive Athletes

Athletes participating with the use of an adaptive aid or guide will be assigned to the start corral based on their expected finishing time. Please look for the coloured flag that matches the colour indicated on your race bib.  

An early start time may available for participants using an adaptive aid, with an expected finishing time of under 50 minutes.  These athletes will start at 7:25am.  Please contact us at info@canadarunningseries.com to request an early start. 

Accessible parking is located in Exhibition Place Lot 852 (north end). This lot can be accessed off Princes’ Blvd – please see the Directions and Getting There section of our website for directions to this parking lot.  

The start line is located on Lake Shore Blvd and is accessed via Ontario Dr.  

Accessible toilets will be located in Race Central (pre- and post-race area) in Parking Lot 852. 

An adaptive athlete tent will be available for all participants using a guide or adaptive aid, or requiring additional accessibility services. Participants may securely leave adaptive aids in the space while they race (such as alternative wheelchairs or other aid).
