    • Starts on University Avenue, just north of Queen Street West
    • South on University Avenue/York Street to Bremner Boulevard
    • West on Bremner Boulevard to Rees Street
    • South on Rees Street to Lake Shore Boulevard West
    • West on Lake Shore Boulevard West to turnaround at Parkside Drive
    • East on Lake Shore Boulevard West to finish line, west of Ontario Drive
    • Post race area at Bandshell Park at Exhibition Place

Start Line

The start line is located on University Avenue, just north of Queen Street West 

  • Please make sure to arrive early to check your baggage, allow time for bathroom use and navigate to your start corral  
  • Before race day, each Runners will be assigned to a colour Start Corrals based on their expected finishing time.  Your race bib will have a colour coded section which indicates your colour corral 
  • There will be a tall, coloured flags at the entrance of each start corral.  You will be responsible for entering the colour corral that was assigned to you.   
  • Start Corrals will open at 7:00 a.m.  
  • All runners should be in their corrals by 7:20 a.m. 
  • Handcyclists and Elite athletes will “corral” in front of the Red corral, at the start line.   
  • Handcyclists will start the race at 7:25 a.m. 
  • Wheelchair participants will start at the back of their corral 
  • The Orange corral is for participants who will be walking 100% of the course 
  • Corrals will start 5 minutes apart to maximize the amount of space runners have at the start, on course and at the finish line.  Your (race) timing will start when you pass the Start Line 
  • Competitive Age Category Runners: Awards will be based on Chip Time 
  • If a corral change is required, send an email to info@canadarunningseries.com on or before Sunday, June 3rd, or visit the Help Desk at packet pickup or on race day 

PACER TEAM 

We will have Pace Leaders that will run the event to a specific finishing time. Run with and follow the designated leader to help you achieve your goal! Pacer’s targeted finish times are:

Finish Line

The finish line is located on Lake Shore Boulevard, west of Ontario Drive. 

To keep congestion for runners in the finish area under control, spectators are not permitted in the finish chute.  We encourage you to make arrangements to meet at The Meeting Zone located in the post-race area. 

The Meeting Zone is broken down into lettered areas (indicated by large flags).  Pick a letter to meet at based on the following breakdown: 

A-D    E-H    I-L    M-P    Q-T    U-X    Y-Z 

Course Restrictions and Support

For the safety of all runners, baby carriers, skateboards, roller blades, Kangoo Jump shoes, animals and unauthorized bicycles and wheeled devices are not permitted in any of the Canada Running Series races.

Children: Everyone participating in this event must be registered, that includes children. We highly recommend that children under the age of 12 be accompanied by an adult over the age of 18.

Time Limit

The time limit to complete the 10k course is 1 hour 40 minutes. Those still on course after this time may be asked to move to the sidewalk to complete the course as an ‘informed pedestrian’.

Water Stations

Water will be available at the following locations:

  • Start Line Area
  • On Course @ 3.5km, 5.5km, 7.5km
  • Finish Line
  • Party Site

Port-o-lets

There will be portable washroom facilities at the start and finish areas, and at all course water stations (3.5km, 5.5km, 7.5km).

Medical Services

Odyssey Medical will provide medical services on course and at the finish line medical tent.

City of Toronto Paramedic Services will have a dedicated unit on the course and at the finish line.

  • “Canadian” is defined as: Citizens; Landed immigrants; and Refugees with official status who have been domiciled in Canada for at least one year (proof may be required).
  • Master defined as: athlete being 40 years old plus, day of event.
  • The Toronto Waterfront 10k is sanctioned and certified by Athletics Ontario, Athletics Canada and the IAAF.

Note: Winners of the Overall Open, Canadian and Masters divisions are not eligible for the age category prizing.

Elite Hosting

Elite Start List

We do not accept emails or telephone calls.

Only applications submitted through the online elite application form are considered, but please note we do not issue invitations for athletes requiring a VISA to attend this event.

All athletes must have run on a certified course since January 1, 2017.

An Elite Athlete application does not guarantee entry. All applications must be approved by the CRS Race Director and Professional Athlete Coordinator.

We will inform each applicant of their elite status one week after the application deadline. Best efforts will be made to offer early acceptance where possible.

Elite Athlete Applications are now closed.

Due to high demand, the posted standards will be rigidly applied. The elite field will be limited to 50 bibs.

If you applied by the April 16 deadline, we will do our best to accommodate those athletes that meet the standard.

Athletes With a Disability

Wheelchair Information

Participants requiring the use of a wheelchair are permitted  

  • Participants will start in the purple corral 
  • Motorized wheelchairs are permitted however: 
    • must not exceed a speed of 5km/hour 
    • must not exceed 40″ length x 30″ wide 
  • Handcycles are permitted
  • Handcyclists will start the race BEFORE the Elite athletes, at 7:25am

Participants Requiring a Support Person 

  1. The participant will register using the online registration system.
  2. Please contactinfo@canadarunningseries.comto provide your support person’s name and contact information. The race will contact the Guide directly. 
  3. Your guide will have to choose 1 of the following 2 options:
  • Guide only: The Guide can participate in the event, to guide (only), at no cost.  They will need to complete the event waiver and a registration form (via email). They will wear the event “GUIDE” bib on their back. 
  • Guide while being their own participant. The guide can enter as a Participant, while being a Guide, and pay the full registration fee. The Guide will need to register for the event through our online registration system. As a Guide and Participant, the Guide will receive the event shirt, bib with timing chip, finisher’s medal and be listed in the overall results.  They will need to wear the event “GUIDE” bib on their back and their own race bib on their front. 
  1. When the participant picks up their race kit, they will receive the additional “GUIDE” bib.
