Pacific Immigrant Resources Society

Pacific Immigrant Resources Society is a community-based, non-profit organization serving immigrant, refugee women and their young children since 1975. We provide free English Language Classes with free childcare. All services provided by PIRS are trauma informed to help them find their place into the society. Through volunteering newcomer women are offered the opportunities to learn work ethics, cultural competencies to increase their chances for employability and also contributes in improving their sense of belonging.

If you care about newcomers in Canada, consider donating to PIRS. Our mission is to empower immigrant and refugee women to fully participate in Canadian life through neighborhood-based programs. We served 1263 participants in 2018 through 20 different programs. This year we have been able to offer free Language classes to immigrant and refugee women. We wish for the future; all PIRS programs would be offered free of cost including women leadership programs.
