5K

Start Line

The 5k start line is located just inside the Zoo Main Entrance. Please note that 5k participants can access the start line beginning at 9:45am — once the 10k participants have cleared the course.

Corrals

All 5k participants will be organized in coloured corrals based on the expected finishing time you provided on your registration form. Your assigned corral will be indicated by a coloured stripe on your bib. On race day, enter your corral at the coloured flags that correspond to your bib.

Corrals will start 9 minutes apart to maximize the amount of space participants have at the start, on course and at the finish line. This is a chip timed event so you will still receive your accurate time based on when you cross the start and finish lines.

5k Corral Times

5k Corral Estimated Finishing Time Start Time
Red < 30 mins 10:00am
Yellow 31–45 mins 10:09am
Blue 45 mins+ 10:18am

Competitive Age Category Runners: Age category prizing will be awarded based on chip time, the time from when the participant crosses the start line to the point where the participant crosses the finish line.

If a corral change is required, please email info@canadarunningseries.com before September 2 or visit the HELP DESK at packet pickup — see map.
